This morning I did a last minute shoot with this young lady; Jackie. Sweet and absolutely gorgeous, Jackie is sure to nail a modeling job! I am enjoying going through these photos so much, I just might have to post a bunch of her really soon! haha.

About two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of shooting Nathan and Rachael's wedding. What a gorgeous wedding! I wish I could post all of the pictures, but this post is already pretty long! :p

Rachael's classy personality was shown throughout the whole wedding. For starters, the decor was beautiful! Black and white/vintage.

(below) The Zamzows grew hanging baskets for the wedding. Once again...beautiful!

I don't think I've ever seen the fellowship hall look so pretty!! ;)

The ladies were up bright and early getting their hairs fixed, and makeup done.

Here I am...pausing to take a breath from the craziness. I wanted to post a few pictures of what ive been up to lately so here they are!
I think I briefly mentioned a couple times that I had the opportunity to take some photos of a family for a modeling company.... I had a blast with each one of these guys, and I'm excited to see what you think of them too! :p

Back to my point- I love it when I can get a genuine smile out of a person, its a small yet very rewarding victory! That being said...I love Daryl's smile!

A couple pictures of my family. Above is my brother and his wife, with Mason their newest addition to the family. (I will post more about Mason soon!) Lately, I've been swamped with editing...you have no idea. From weddings to graduations to family pictures to potential jobs, my life has been chaotically running in circles trying to stay organized and get the job(s) done.

Esther; I'd have to say the sweetest member of my family, (no you are all very sweet) but Esther's character seems to beam more brightly with a quiet sort of joy and want to please everyone and do good. I love this picture because it speaks her personality.

Emily is probably the one person in our family who you go to if you want to hear a funny joke, or have a good laugh. Sometimes I'm not sure how i get a serious smile out of her! She is full of giggles and love, ready to make anyone feel comfortable and have fun.

Words cannot describe how much this girl means to me!
We met in junior high, she moved from Utah to live here, and we became fast friends through church and school.
After a few years of moving back and forth between states, Kristin and her family moved a few blocks down from my house.
I remember that day, when my mom told me they were going to live nearby. ah! The fun times we were going to have!
Little did I know how MANY good times we were going to have.
From junior high buddies, to best friends, to practically sisters, Krissy and I have been through (pardon the cheesiness) "thick and thin".
She's always been the shoulder for me to cry on, the one to laugh with till my stomach aches , and an ear for my never-ending babbles.
Krissy is beautiful, and caring; she loves color, patterns, soft, and sweet smelling things.
If I could think of one thing one might not know about Krissy....its that she LOVES music with a good beat!
For example...
I know this is a recent memory, but it has been forever engraved into my mind...
We were driving down a country road, going 50mph blasting Jessie McCartney. All windows down, sunroof down, and Krissy gets up and sticks her head out of the window groovin' like no one is watching.
You can imagine the hysterical laughing that came after that.

I love you so much, girl! Someday we will own little houses and live next to each other. You with your 10 kitties and me with my dogs. :)

Grant and Giselli - part 2

Its been awhile since I promised I would blog about these two kidos!
I'm not sure if I said this before, but this was my first "official" children's photo shoot.
Obviously, I take pictures of my siblings ALL the time, but this is the first time I've been blessed to take pictures of someone else's kids!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Grant from the shoot! (above)
Grant is such a sweet, caring little guy! He was so good with putting up with me for an hour and a half! :)
Once we started shooting around his smile came out, and I think we captured some great moments.

Grant and Giselli have the biggest blue eyes, I am so jealous!

When Marci showed me the hat she had picked out for Giselli to wear, I was ecstatic!

JJ + Chelsea Part 2

JJ and Chelsea, childhood sweethearts, are getting ready to tie the knot this summer.
I wanted to re-due their engagement photos because of the weather and lighting we encountered last time.
First let me say that I love having a couple to practice photography on whenever I can.
Second, I loved shooting downtown! Downtown holds so many weird, yet amazing backgrounds and buildings.

After finding a parking spot...we began to roam around Portland's waterfront, snapping away at any opportunity. Unfortunately, the Rose Festival was going on this weekend, so a lot of other people were roaming around Portland too! But I think we managed to avoid the crowds.

JJ is currently in the blazing hot state of Florida training in the Marines. He flew back for Memorial Day weekend.

Thankfully, I know my way around the waterfront pretty well, so we found some pretty neat places. We ventured into a hotel at one point, and considered sitting Chelsea on the grand piano for a pic, but reconsidered at the thought of getting thrown out by our coat tails.

Ah! An escelator not moving? AWESOME!
The escelator actually produced some of my favorite pictures from this shoot!

They both have the same color eyes, isn't that neat?

I was recently asked to take some "children"(for lack of a better word) pictures , so I've been practicing on who else but my little sisters!

Its been pretty nice the last couple of days, and my photographers itch kicked in. AKA-I've been dying to use my camera!
Fortunately for me, Mary is always available for pictures! Maybe not so fortunate for her....but does she really have a choice?

At least she is obliging, right? I'll spare the pouty faced pictures for now. The sight of daddy coming home from work brought out a smile, yay for me!

These last few weeks have been a struggle for me. Mostly silly things that tend to rack my brain all at once....for example:

school bills
exhaustion
food allergies
lack of contentment
confusion as to where the Lord is leading me

and as I was thinking and complaining to myself with all these insignificant problems and I realized that my focus was entirely on
myself.

So last week, I made this my prayer. That I would keep my focus off myself, off my "problems", and on the Lord. Where it should be.

Beautiful off and On the Court

Ah so I'm finally posting. My blog has been acting up...Its actually driving me insane! Hopefully, it will start behaving again, soon!
Anyways....I enjoyed assistant coaching for my old volleyball team this year. I came to know and love each one of these ladies, and hope to possibly help out again here and there in the future. :) You are all so special to me!

I spent the afternoon with two of my favorite little gals a few weeks ago.
We were shooting for some "best friend" pictures, so we hit the park and I snapped away for about an hour. Both ladies have the most ah-ma-zing eyes! I was going through my photos after the shoot, and my jaw dropped at how exquisite Savannah's blue eyes are! Likewise, Hannah has some of the most gorgeous chocolaty-brown eyes I've ever seen! These are two of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet, I had a blast hangin' out with ya'll!

Ella Dawn! What a gorgeous name for a girl.
I had been sneaking triple peeks at all the pictures Staci, Ella's mom, had been posting on her facebook for a few weeks. I'm sure you can imagine my excitement when Staci offered to let me take pictures of her little sweetheart!

So here are a few snaps of this little munchkin' and her little friend Cora as well.

Cora was SUCH a cutie! And so obliging as well! When asked to smile she would pause and grin while exclaiming, "CHEESE!"
This of course brought many laughs. :)

The above picture is one that I happened to stumble across during my editing. I absolutely love it when that happens.

To understand these pictures, you must know that poor Ella had 4 large people yelling, screaming, laughing, and making extremely weird silly faces and gestures at her throughout the whole shoot.
Hence all the confused, yet adorable faces coming from Ella.

We also brought bubbles to the park! It was super fun...I think I've shot with bubbles maybe once, and it didn't really count!
Staci, Bekah, Jenae, and I circled Ella and began blowing bubbles and me snapping away. It worked out quite nicely....

but unfortunately Ella didn't know how to dodge the bubbles!

SUPER CUTE nonetheless! hehe!

Mason Alexander Anderson

Well, most of you who know me, know, (haha) I'm going to be an auntie soon!

My brother and his wife are having a little boy, due in about 2-3 weeks.
I'm hoping he will come sooner!
They picked out the name Mason Alexander, such a cute name!

So in anticipation of his coming, Merissa and Josh carved a cute/adorable/beautiful place in their home for their precious little blessing.

Personally, I think it looks like something from a magazine. It goes to show what a little hard work can do!

Merissa and I were chatting about how long we have been waiting for Mason. 6 months? I may be wrong...She found out in August but it wasn't until November when she and Josh came over to break the news.
They gathered the entire family into the living room and excitedly told us they were having a baby.

A few weeks later...(weeks?) we found out they are having a boy!
I admit I am a smidgen dissapointed, but ONLY, and I mean ONLY because I wont be able to put a little headband on Mason's head for pictures.
(so selfish of me!)
Otherwise, I am delighted that its a boy, and I cannot even express my excitement in words.

I literally spent an hour in this room, snapping away.
Even the diapers had their time to shine!

This picture, below, REALLY makes me miss Mason.
I know, it sounds weird and perhaps silly that I am missing someone who is not even born yet....but I can just see him peeking his little head through the bars. His big ol' eyes just staring back at me; his chubby cheeks spreading into a grin.

I guess the monkey will have to do for now.

I love perspective shots.

Before this shoot, I researched a lot, and took SO many ideas from photographers I admire and aspire to be like. I think having a unique perspective on the subject, or object you are photographing has a HUGE affect on how your pictures will turn out!

Did I mention I love the jungle theme?
I think its adorable for baby boys!

Merissa bought the cutest diaper bag, ever. And I'm talking about the cutest diaper bag in the history of diaper bags! Before this moment, I never thought that a diaper bag could be so cute!

The signs of spring are finally here!
5 months of leafless trees, mud, and soaking-wet pant bottoms, really does something to a person!
I've gotten into a habit of driving 15 miles an hour around town searching for color!
Thankfully, I dont have to search too far. All the trees are gradually turning all shades of pink and red, and flowers are blossoming everywhere I turn! *takes deep breath*
I love it.
I want to drink in the smells, and the beauty of spring all at once!
So here they are, the first cherry blossoms of the year. Every last one blooming in its own celestial glory.

Yet, even the most gorgeous cherry blossoms, cannot compare to the beauty of Christ.

I cannot even begin to wrap my mind around his Majesty.

Yesterday, a few girls and I snagged the opportunity to drive down to seaside for the afternoon.
The weather was sunny and 58 degrees out. Not too bad for Oregon weather huh? Since I am banned from posting any pictures of Kristin till after graduation, all you get to see is Kelsey for now. I love all of these pictures; they turned out SO well! Prepare yourself to see a lot of Kels this week. :)

Probably one of our favorites. I usually don't show my pictures to my subjects before I edit them, but half of these are coming straight out of my camera, the colors were so great! Anyway, so I showed these to Kelsey and we had some good laughs and then decided on a bunch we like.

The intensely bright sun. We arrived at the beach at 5ish in the afternoon. SUCH a perfect time too!!

Silly Talks

Yes, another picture of this sweet little punkin'.
I wanted to share this cute little story with you, it made me smile.
Yesterday, Mary comes up to me, dressed in this random outfit. (a combination of all her clothes on one body) I teased her saying, "woah, you look punky today!" She either didnt understand what i meant by the word "punky" or misunderstood me because of her instant hunger craving. Hearing me wrong, she said with a frown, "Bria, we have no food, we are poor!" I chuckled and immediately opened our fridge to show the enormous amount of goodies packed away in the cold compartment. That seemed to relieve her, and soon after she ran around the house exclaiming, "We have lots'a food, we aren't poor!"

It cracked me up. I love this little babe, so much! I come home from work everyday and she comes over and sits on my lap to talk and for some tickles.

Morning at the Mansion

We took a chance and drove up to Pittock Mansion last Thursday morning. The storm clouds looked threatening, as if they were about to release torrents of angry rain, but we continued in hopes of capturing a few pictures. Which, I think we did! All of these turned out crazy-cute!

One thing I love about this girl, is that she is very unique, and classy.

I cannot honestly believe the school year is almost over! All these senior pictures are making me SAD! I am outrageously happy for everyone graduating though, it is nice to be done with high school at some point, right? :)

Once I thought I had finally licked my cold, it just got worse. True, my throat ache did go away, but it was hastily replaced with a stuffed up nose. Everyone keeps telling me this bug lasts for weeks. I'm hoping to kick it out the door in a day. woot! :)

I know I said I wasn't going to post anymore of Krissy, but I have no other faces to post at the moment, and I love how these are turning out!

Blogger, meet Kristin. For the next month or so we will be taking some of her senior pictures.

I probably won't be posting much of her for awhile, but I wanted to show this picutre because I love it SO much!

I'm catching somewhat of a cold...the "cold bug" seems to be floating around lately. It really sucks, seeing that I have to work all week, sick or not! Good news is, the sun has been shining a lot the last couple of days, and I LOVE it!

Summer 09 here I come!

I've been meaning to post a bunch of these, so here they are!
Holly is one of my good friends, who is also very talented with photography

Her blog is adorable, and full of personality. I never fail to peek and look for updated photos!

SO I absolutely LOVED this photoshoot! We both went out one day with our camera's and just took turns snapping away. The results turned out beautifully if i do say so myself. :)

Downtown Forest Grove had some awesome walls! Orange, and striped (seen below) Crazy goodness!

Did I mention, vineyards are amazing photo destinations? I cannot wait till summer, when grapes are actually in season.

The only problem with this picture (below) is the fact that we were on private property....and we knew it. haha. :) I guess that's why we are SUCH amazing photographers! We can get incredible pictures in a time span of 5 seconds.

Brent and Jenae

I know, right! Two posts in one night, what is up with that?
I had a great time with these two! We took a day to do Brent's senior pictures, and his sister, Jenae, tagged along. Two of the craziest, cutest siblings out there!

I can honestly say, something funny always seems to come along when I am with Jenae. :)
Sometime soon I will post a few pictures to show you, but I have at least 5 pictures I can think of where Jenae is just cracking up. Its super cute, I only wish I could remember what was so funny :p

Ooh lah lah

This is probably, without a doubt, the favorite of Brent...so far anyway. I took 500 pictures that day. Yes, lots of editing to do! Currently, I am at maybe photo 250? I'm pretty sure halfway is a good place to be!

True Personality always shows at some point! :p

Side Note: Its always good to bring friends/siblings along to bring out the subjects character a little more. :p

Last but definitely not least.....My favorite of Jenae, lounging on a bench, with the lovely colored window frames faded in the background. More to come, later, when I can finally catch my breath.

Sweethearts

I admit, I've been a little neglectful with my blog. I'm trying to give it more spice, a new layout or possibly just adding less pictures, and writing more often!
I love this picture for so many reasons...I simply asked her to give me a
'sweet smile' and I was rewarded with the most innocent smile of smiles.

If you know my little sisters, you know that they are two of the silliest, most entertaining, girls!

This little sweetheart is always wearing a smile or expressing a giggle. Very few times will she be in a sour mood.
Note: Her hair has gotten so long, I'm dying for mom to cut it so I can get some cute summer(ish) pictures!

Her eyes are so blue, I'm still trying to figure out why I failed to inherit the blue eyed genes...

My favorite of all. A genuine smile coming from a sweet genuine little girl.

I did a lot of job searching today. Seems almost hopeless, but hopefully something will come up! Afterwards i grabbed my little sis, who was running around in the dirt barefoot, and snapped a few shots. I love feet! Well, my feet are not what i consider cute, but little feet are adorable! :) Expect to see more from today...I'm posting at different times...Happy first day of the week?!

These two adorable sweethearts are probably my favorite, and most-used models. Lately, I've been having to bribe them to spend 30 minutes posing for me.
